Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs could be set for a shock return to football - in charge of Middlesbrough

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs could be set for a shock return to management as he is on the shortlist to become the next manager of Middlesbrough.
Giggs is hoping to get back into the game after leaving Old Trafford last summer following a spell as Louis van Gaal's number two.
But when the Dutch coach left last summer and Jose Mourinho took over, Giggs was no longer surplus to requirements and has been working as a television pundit this season.
The 43-year-old is keen to show he can manage at the highest level and could now get his chance with the north east club who are looking to find a permanent manager after Aitor Karanka was sacked back in March.

Steve Agnew was appointed caretaker boss until the end of the season and Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson has already stated that he would like to see him land the position on a long-term basis.
Gibson, speaking back in March, said: “I hope he’s here this time next year or the year after.
“He has a lot of qualities. He is a very good coach, a deep thinker, loads of experience, knows this club, is a man of integrity and the players trust and like him.
