It is ‘the chat’ dads, and teenagers, dread the most. But a new study suggests talking with your children about the birds and the bees does make them more likely to practise safe sex – and it’s better still if done by Mum.

Daughters benefit more than sons when parents discuss contraception and risky sexual conduct, says analysis of more than 25,000 teenagers over 30 years.
