Alarm clock wafts aromas of espresso and the seaside to rouse you gently in less than two minutes. The sudden screaming of an alarm clock is enough to jolt most of us awake but it's an unpleasant way to start the day.

Now there’s an alarm clock that’s claims to be able to rouse you from the deepest of slumbers simply by wafting invigorating scents such as coffee and croissants around your bedroom.  The SensorWake alarm, invented by a French teenager, is designed to be an effective and relaxing way to wake up.

At a chosen time, the clock emits a scent, from chocolate and candy to freshly cut grass and the smell of the seaside, in order to rouse users within two minutes.
Designer Guillaume Rolland, 18, is raising money on Kickstarter to put his alarm clock into production.

His prototype was recognised as one of 15 that ‘can change the world’ at Google’s 2014 Science Fair and stems from a hatred of his noisy alarm clock. The part-time student at the University of Technology of Compiègne, said: ‘I thought that now, in the 21st century, everyone should have the right to wake up happy, relaxed and peaceful, ready for a great day. 'So I invented the SensorWake.’
